Current Research

A) Richardson family of western New York (Ontario, Livingston, and Allegany Counties)
 - Best overview of my research is located here on my blog, or on my website. Two goals:

  1. Document all the descendants of Jonathan Richardson (b. circa 1743, d. bef 1829) to the present day.
  2. Determine where Jonathan Richardson (above) came from in New England and to which Richardson family he is related.
B) Mahan families of Indiana County, Pennsylvania
  • Document the family of Patrick Mahan (1788/9 - 1840/1 ) and Nancy Laughlin (1796 - 1883 ), including their origins in Ireland (Patrick from County Donegal and Nancy from County Tyrone).
  • Document the family of Patrick Mahan (1783/4 - 1871), son of John Mahan (1760/70 - Dec 1846/Jan 1847), and Nancy Wilson [?] ( - bef 1850)
C) Document the descendants of Prince Rogers and Susannah Snow (both Mayflower descendants through Constance (Hopkins) Snow and William Brewster, and Prince also a descendant of Thomas Rogers).

D) Document the Ebbert/Ebert/Eberts, Usher, Rodgers families of Washington and Fayette Counties, Pennsylvania
  • William Rodgers and Hannah Catherine (Ebbert) Usher are my great-great grandparents. They had four children. Hannah Catherine had one child from her first marriage to an Usher.
  • Hannah Catherine's father (Joseph Alva/Aiken Ebbert [?]) died in 1896 or Jan 1898. They had at least five children (possibly as many as eight). Her mother, Sarah Ann (Abbott) Ebbert remarried to James Franklin Usher in 1898.
  • The children of Joseph and Sarah Ebbert were sent to an orphanage, except for the youngest child, who was either a baby or a toddler.
  • Most of the family members work in the coal mines of southwestern Pennsylvania.
E) Write the history of Asiel Snow of Snowville, Pulaski County, Virginia, Massachusetts native and entrepreneur.

F) Documentation of the Lutheran inhabitants of the town of Oberotterbach, Germany, hometown of my great-great grandmother Elizabeth (Brunck) Gredler.

I am related to you through Patrick and Nancy Mahan. William Meade is my great grandfather. I’d like to know more about their life in Ireland.
